We are quite obsessed with warm tones. They are such a staple in our every day use because they are so flattering. Whether we are doing a cooler look and want to add a warm transition colour or going full out warm (like the photo above), we ALWAYS incorporate a warm tone. Warm tones do a few things that we will discuss shortly. Firstly, here are some staple warm tones that you may want to invest in:

- Saddle (MAC)

- Wedge (MAC)

- Cork (MAC)

- Brown Script (MAC)

- Folie (MAC)

- Bengal (Anastasia)

- Earthy Brown (Anastasia)

- Viseart Basic Palette

- The entire Morphe 35o palette

These are just a few of our favorites but anything with a copper, red or bronze undertone will do.

Now, back to the basic functions of warm tones. Warm tones really aid in the blending of different colours and can work to achieve a well blended, diffused look. Most times, when you look at top makeup artist's work, you'll see they almost always use a warm colours as a crease transition. If your ever wondering why your makeup is missing that professional look, it could just be that you are missing that crucial warm transition colour. The transition colour is normally applied above or directly into the crease and blended up towards the brow bone. You can then start layering your other colours in the lower area of your crease, meanwhile, the warm tone will create movement and help everything jive together.

In addition to tranistioning your eyeshadows, warm tones can really create a "pop" or a "colour combat" (as mentioned in our previous post about colour theory). For example, if you really want your purple shadow to stand out, adding a warm peach or caramel tone will make the purple appear vibrant. The same applies when it comes to enhancing your natural eye colour.

In this look, we used the Morphe #35o palette. As you can see, the whole look is very warm. This palette is definitely a staple. The colour pay off is really good and the price point is fantastic. If you are looking for a good overall warm toned palette, this is definitely something to pick up.

What are your must have warm tones?
